urrghs. don't know wassup with photobucket. this is the fourth time im typing this post lahhs. Anwss. am back from vietnam! turned out that my boss had something cropped up and had to fly to hongkong the next day we arrived in vietnam. so he sort of paid for our airfares and lodgings for us to be on a holiday. and he is really super nice cus he treated us to all our meals before he left for hongkong at very nice vietnamese restaurants, and paid for our city tour (for the day he left for hongkong), and arranged for a chauffeur to fetch us to the airport on the day which we leave vietnam and called me from hongkong to ask if we had arrived safely in singapore. and the hotel we stayed in is under the charge of his brother so the hotel ppl know us as "mr. henry's friends" such that we get discounts when we sign up for extra tours and are well taken care of. so. hahs. we are on a free and easy holiday in vietnam. The teachers really didnt bother with us and seemed to be on a shopping trip of their own. One of them said "when u travel to a third-world country you always spend" and so they really spent and spent. but they're really quite nice and treated us on the last night which i afterwards asked to treat them to cakes at a cafe in return. so me and the other girl were mostly left to fend for our own. which means we can wake up anytime we like ( as long as we're in time for the hotel breakfast) and then we would look at the maps and go to wherever we like, on our own. i started making friends with the hotel ppl and the tourist centre near our hotel becomes a place which we visit often for directions. Think we were really brave considering that lonely planet book described vietnam as "the most theft-ridden country in asia" and there are 1 motorbike for every 3 persons there. And the roads are really messy. And drivers horn like nobody's business. And the colour of traffic lights does not matter. And the pedestrain lines on the roads doesnt really exist. And beggars were a common sight. Yet, two seventeen years old girls walked everywhere as if they have lived in vietnam all their lives. hahs.
annws. This post shall be on my job attachment and vietnam trip. hopefully it helps me in writing my feedback and report which i have to hand in. hah. so bear with me yahhs.

This is the boss of my company's major client company, so he can be said to be my boss as well. he is a philippines who studied in america. and i love his slang. hehs.

This is my desk in the office. To my left is the general manger room.

This is the warehouse. have never seen so much alcohol and tobacco in my life. hahs. and I discovered that they have new flavours for absolute vodka again. bahs.

On the day of our departure, we saw the team singapore leaving for manila for the SEA games. the teachers say is the sailing team. hahs. quite a few are quite good-looking. And they have the cheerleaders outside the departure hall cheering too :)

On the night that we arrived in vietnam, vietnam won laos in the SEA games football. the whole nation was celebrating such that the streets were full of motorbikes. It was so chaotic with people screaming and waving the vietnam flag and banners. There was hardly any road that is not blocked and taking my camera out to take a picture of this was really risky cause anyone can just whisk my camera away on the motorbike. it is not really clear but the whole street is actually filled. One could hardly breathe with the thick exhaust gases in the air.

A patrotic little boy. vey cute! hahs. but he refused to look into my camera.

This is how the road looked like from my hotel. it cleared abit after the traffic police decided to come

At the hotel with the boss :)

The cathedral. And a wedding car too. there were so many weddings while we were there, including a few at the hotel.

The lacquerware factory which employs the handicapped. to support them, i bought something. as it is so labour-intensive, it costs me quite a bit. bahs.

The pictures of the vietnam war. The picture of a mother with her children trying to cross a river really gripped my heart.

The ben thanh market. We go there almost everyday when we have nothing to do. It has almost everything there and is 15-20 times as big as a sinagpore wet market and has many many many stalls. This is one of the many entrances
This is my attachment partner. and the only pic. i took alone with her. She is really weird. she don flush the toliets sometimes and when i told her so she’ll go "never mind lahhs"and i’ll say "of course never mind to you but you nearly made me puke out my meal." And she is always saying senseless things. She keeps saying she wants to buy tiger airways tickets home the next day. She keeps calling her parents and she keeps complaining about everything, and maybe because she is the only child, she is really spoilt. One day, i was cleaning my slippers because it was so full of dust and she asked me for blotters. She didnt say "please" or "can I" and when i told her to wait cus i was busy she went "quick quick!" I got angry and said she is spoilt. after she used the blotter she went "oh, ive no oil leiis, think you can reuse this piece." wth.
And she keeps talking about her ‘korkors.’ She has a habit of repeating the same thing at least 15 times so that i get irritated. whatever i buys she makes sure she buys it too.One day, i was buying shirts when she asks me which colour and design is nice every 2 secs such that I cant choose anything .I really don’t know why she cant make any decisions on her own. and whatever I tell the teacher she echoes me. And one day she left our hotel room door open and we got scolded real bad. Our room is directly opposite the lifts and the teachers saw it when they were going to the lifts and berated us and said we were "waiting to be rape" and even told the boss, giving him a bad impression. I thought it unfair to be scolded so badly for something that isnt really my fault. Though we were partners and im supposed to look out for her but I was not the last to enter the room. doesn’t it makes sense for the last to shut the door? So we grew really paranoid about doors and we agreed to have the doors locked. And she was turning the lock knob when she shouted "I think the lock is not working! I still open the door though I’ve locked it!" and I tried explaining to her for 10 mins that of course we must be able to open it from inside or we can’t get out. She didnt believe me. So she went outside and tried. Of course the door cant open and THEN she is statisfied. I wonder how much common sense she has really. And she likes to peel oranges on my bed. And she is so easily jealous. She told the teachers that I like to be clean and the teachers say it is good to be clean so she said the teacher like me better and she wasnt very happy when a lady at the market said I was pretty and she kept making fun of me cus this hotel technician kept smiling at us like a mad dog whenever he sees us. And she has the habit of leaving lights on to sleep and refused to let me off even when she is asleep so I have to sleep with the bed lamp glaring at me. really, ive never had a room mate quite like her.

The cathedral and behind is the diamond plaza, a korean shopping mall.

A flood in the countryside. Somehow, I was intrigued by it. And I got chased by a dog in the countryside with really sharp and red teeth while trying to enter a shop to buy coca cola bottles for my dad because he collects them from different countries.

Fishing boats on the mekong delta river. The girl forced me to go for the river tour. so everyone had to go and the teachers had to cancel their shopping appointments cus they dont go around with us unless on such tours. I didnt want to go cus it was 36 USD, even after discount, which is about 61 bucks sin. and i was low on budget. all because she was so insistent.

Fishball noodles. In the previous post, I was worried about vietnam food not being nice, suprisingly, the food are really quite nice. but this was an exception. Though I white base soup makes it looks yummy, it noodles are really not nice and the fishballs are hard.

An old woman on her boat in the tributaries. I love this picture :)

We had coconut juice on this boat. i really nearly got seasick.

Five of us on this tiny tiny little boat. i was so damn afraid cus we were told that it was high tide. The red cap is not mine, if you are thinking why im wearing it. hahs. it is from the teachers. They brought clothes to donate cus the sri lanka cip trip was cancelled.
i want you in my arms ;
